This year at The Community Church has gone beyond our expectations in so many ways.

We’ve welcomed new faces each week into our community.

We’ve created more classroom space for a growing number of kids.

We’ve engaged new students each week at Youth.

We’ve tackled hard topics and inspired curiosity in the way of Jesus.

And we’ve seen God make an incredible impact in the lives of so many people!

Before this year ends, we want to go beyond in one more way…

As we’re discovering through our current teaching series, the way of Jesus invites us into a life of generosity that is greater than ourselves. Some of the earliest Christian churches modeled this for the world when they chose to give beyond their means to the needs of others. (2 Cor. 8) They earned a reputation for being sacrificially generous, even when it didn’t line up with common sense. Their generous giving made a lasting impact in our world. And it inspired others to do the same.

Today, we want to be known as a church that goes beyond what is comfortable to earn a reputation for being irrationally generous. We want to give beyond ourselves for something greater than ourselves.

The Beyond Initiative is an opportunity for all of us, collectively, to take a step of sacrificial generosity together.

The Financial Goal:

$50,000

$75,000

In years past, we’ve received approximately $50,000 in year-end donations, over and above our typical monthly giving. We want to go beyond our past levels of generosity, taking a significant step of sacrifice together. With that, we’re stepping up the goal this year…

By the end of 2024, our goal is to contribute $75,000 together, over and above our typical monthly giving. It’s a big goal. But we believe we can reach it together as we each take our next step in sacrificial generosity.

$50,000 to Strengthen Our Ministry Fund

We believe 2025 could be our best year yet! But how we end this year determines how we’ll begin next year. As with most donor-funded organizations, a significant portion of our budget is raised at the end of the year. Our Ministry Fund fuels life-change every week in CoKids, Youth, Worship Gatherings, and Adult Discipleship. And we’re excited to continue building on the growth and impact we’re seeing in these environments!

$20,000 to Local + Global Missions Partners

We want to be a church that is known for its irrational generosity in our community and around the world. To that end, The Beyond Initiative will enable us to invest $20,000 in the following ways…

- Family Pathways Christmas Meals: We think every family ought to have a great meal on Christmas Day. Through Family Pathways, we’ll provide that to 150 families in need in our immediate community.

- GoMAD Partners: We want to invest financially in the needs of some of the amazing organizations we’ve served through GoMAD! They’re meeting real needs in our community that are beyond our own scope and we want to help.

- Big Family Church (Ukraine): Pastor Sergei and our sister church in Ukraine have continued to serve the rapidly growing needs in their own community during the war with Russia. We want to continue our partnership by resourcing them to make a difference in their own community.

$5,000 to Further Our Outreach

We’re a church for the community around us, not for ourselves! These funds will enable us to open our front doors even wider to invite those not yet with us! The Beyond Initiative will fund scholarships for Mega Sports Camp, through which we’ve already seen new families connect with our church. It will also fund improvements to our “digital front door,” allowing us to improve the website most of your friends look at before they say “yes” to your invitation!

The Family Goal: 100% Participation in Sacrificial Generosity

We can do so much more together than we can alone! In fact, the earliest Christians often took significant steps of generosity collectively and communally, not individually. With that in mind, we want to see 100% of people who call The Co their “home” partner together in taking a step of sacrificial generosity.

Sacrifice will look different for each of us. And it will take all of us to make a difference that is greater than ourselves.

Giving

We’re asking each person who calls The Community Church their “home” to prayerfully join together in sacrificial generosity.

Consider these resources as you pray and give:

Weekend Teaching: Watch each week of our Beyond teaching series as we discover more together about how to be generous.

Prayer Guide: Read and pray through this Downloadable Prayer Guide. These scriptures and questions have become foundational to this initiative and we believe God can use them to speak to each of our hearts.
